In the South Pacific of Costa Rica, the main season to see humpback whales is from August to October. This is when the population from the Southern Hemisphere migrates to these warm waters to breed. It’s also possible to see whales from the Northern Hemisphere between December and March.

We recommend you bring sunscreen, a hat or cap, sunglasses, and a reusable water bottle. It’s also a good idea to bring a camera to capture the most special moments. A light rain jacket can also be useful in case of rain.

Our guides are experts in the area and do everything possible to find them, but seeing whales, dolphins, and turtles depends on nature. We cannot guarantee a 100% sighting since these animals are in their natural habitat, but the probabilities are very high, and the experience of being on the ocean is unique.
